Our Story

your community Tennis Club

St Mary’s Tennis Club is a part of the charity St Mary’s Sports Ground, which was set up in approximately 1928/29 following the gift of the land by Mr Musgrave. The charity’s purpose is to be available to the local community for recreation. We are run by a committee of members who would like to make tennis accessible to all. Our mission is to open the club to tennis enthusiasts, new tennis players and to the wider community for recreation.

St Mary’s FACILITIES

St. Mary’s Tennis Club has three European real clay courts and a recently extended clubhouse with changing facilities and a fully equipped kitchen. In addition, we offer table tennis, and have ample green space for our visitors to watch tennis, for parties or functions.

St Mary’s is affiliated to the LTA & Middlesex Tennis.

partnership club

St. Mary’s has been twinned with Konstanz Tennis Club, one of the leading clay court tennis clubs in Germany, since 2013.

Konstanz Tennis club enjoys an idyllic location on the banks of Lake Constance with the Swiss Alps as a spectacular backdrop. TC Konstanz boasts 10 European clay courts like ours plus 3 indoor artificial clay courts.

Members of St. Mary’s have an open invitation to visit Konstanz and Konstanz members are equally welcome at St. Mary’s. Visits regularly take place with much tennis and wonderful hospitality enjoyed.

One of the coaches at Konstanz tennis club is Davor Tomazic, who coached Goran Ivanisovic, when he won Wimbledon in 2001.
